NeRd race!

In a recent post on a new method for detecting associations between variables in many-variable datasets, I jokingly suggested that some of our R-savvy readers should race one another to be the first to write an R package implementing this new method. The joke fell flat when Scott Chamberlin pointed out that there’s already a way to run the new method from R. But that’s not the same thing as actually having a native R package, and in his comments on that post, Scott has thrown down the gauntlet and indicated that he’s game for what one of his rivals called a “neRd race”.

Any other neRds out there care to take Scott on? If so, fill your coffee mug and loosen up your coding muscles! On your mark, get set…go! ;-)

I won’t be racing myself, but I do want to be helpful, so here is some music to inspire our neRds. ;-)
